Hardik Pandya’s Gujarat Titans are all set to sport a lavender kit in support of battle against cancer in their forthcoming match on Monday. The side will lock horns with Aiden Markram’s Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Monday, May 15.

The defending champions took to their official social media handle to share the heartwarming update in their support towards the cause. Instead of the regular dark blue kit, the players of the Titans will be seen donning a lavender-coloured outfit to raise awareness against cancer.

“We are ready to don the lavender colours this Monday for a special cause. Gujarat Titans cares about the health and wellness of one and all! Join us as we strive to raise awareness against cancer,” the franchise captioned their post on Instagram.

Defending champions aiming for Qualifier 1 berth

Speaking about their most recent outing, Hardik Pandya and Co. suffered a defeat at the hands of five-time winners Mumbai Indians on May 12. Despite spin sensation Rashid Khan claiming a four-wicket haul in the first innings, Mumbai posted a humongous 218 runs, courtesy of Suryakumar Yadav’s blitzkrieg (103* off 49 balls).

The flamboyant batter smacked runs all over the park as he got six maximums and 11 fours at an explosive strike rate of 210.20. In response, Rashid Khan retaliated with a belligerent knock of an unbeaten 32-ball 79, which included as many as 10 sixes and three fours at a jaw-dropping strike rate of 246.87.

Despite the lethal hitting, Mumbai clinched the two points and climbed up to the third spot in the IPL Points Table with 14 points in 12 matches. Meanwhile, Gujarat, who were comfortably sitting atop the ladder just a few matches ago, now face a stiff competition from the likes of CSK and MI. However, with two group fixtures still to go, the defending champions will be gunning to obtain favorable results and cement their berth in the Qualifier 1 spot.
