Zaman blasts Pakistan to Tri-Series final win over Oz

Opener Fakhar Zaman (in pic) smashed a career-best 91 from 46 balls as Pakistan defeated Australia by six wickets in a record run chase to lift the Zimbabwe T20 Tri-Series trophy at the Harare Sports Club. Australia won the toss and elected to bat on a flat track in the final, posting 183/8 in their 20 overs with the innings anchored by opener D’Arcy Short’s stylish 76 from 53 balls. Pakistan were in trouble early on in their reply as they lost their first two wickets with just two runs on the scoreboard.Brief Scores: Australia: 183/8 (Short 76, Finch 47; Amir 3/33); Pakistan: 187/4 (Fakhar 91, Shoaib Malik 43*)

Tour de France: Sagan takes Stage 2 and overall lead 
World champion Peter Sagan won a crash-marred second stage of the Tour de France and took the overall leader’s yellow jersey with a perfectly-timed sprint. The Slovak beat Italian Sonny Colbrelli and France’s Arnaud Demare, who were second and third, respectively. Colombian Fernando Gaviria crashed in the finale and was unable to contest the sprint.

Lahiri slips in third round, but stays in contention
Anirban Lahiri staged a terrific fightback after a disappointing front nine to bring home a card of one-over 71 in the third round of the Greenbrier Classic. Lahiri bogeyed the first, second, seventh and ninth on front nine, but birdied the 12th, 14th and 17th to take his total to an 11-under 199.  He slipped from overnight T-2 to T-6 but is still within a striking distance at just three shots behind leader Harold Varner (66). Meanwhile, Aditi Ashok shot a three-under 69 and moved to an 11-under 205 at the Thornberry LPGA Classic at Oneida. — Agencies
