Youth shot at, seven booked

A youth, identified as Jaideep Singh (19) was shot at over an old enmity in Muradpura village here on Saturday. He was tying his buffaloes when the accused barged into his residence and fired a couple of gunshots at his legs. He was rushed a private hospital located at GT Road here.

Amrik Kaur, mother of the victim, stated to the police that the accused were equipped with firearms. They fired a couple of shots at his legs leaving him injured critically.

She said Jaideep had a quarrel with the accused around five years ago and a compromise was struck at that time.

Police authorities said Harwinder Singh, Surjit Singh and five unknown persons had been booked. No arrest has been made in this connection as the accused are on the run.
