A youth, Shirikant Sharma (26), has been arrested and a Child in Conflict with law  apprehended in Dwarka with recovery of an illegal pistol and 26 live cartridges, said police.

On Jan 1, the police officials of Dwarka North while on surprise checking near Metro pillar No. 893, spotted a Honda Civic car with Uttrakhand registration, which was being driven by Sharma. His style of driving appeared suspicious. During checking, a loaded pistol 7.65 mm (0.32”) and six live cartridges have been recovered from Sharma's possession and 10 more live cartridges (7.65 KF) were recovered from the car's dashboard, DCP Anto Alphonse.

Sharma disclosed that he had bought the pistol along with 40 live cartridges from the minor for Rs 12,000. During investigation, the recovered pistol was found stolen, he said.

Later, the minor was also apprehended and 10 more live cartridges were recovered from his possession. The juvenile further disclosed that he had stolen the pistol and 50 live cartridges from a flat at Kakrola Village here, DCP added.
