Youth booked for misbehaving with woman, kin in Zirakpur

Acting on the complaint of a woman, the police have booked a youth under Sections 279, 354, 509, 427 and 506 of the IPC at the Zirakpur police station.

The complainant, a resident of Victoria City, Zirakpur, in her complaint to the police, had alleged that on December 29, she went to a nearby market on her Activa scooter.

She alleged that when she was about to park his scooter, a youth, Balwinder, alias Balli, riding a motorcycle rammed his vehicle into her scooter. When she raised objection, the youth not only misbehaved with her but also hurled abuses at her. The victim alleged that she called up her father, who also reached the spot. She told the police that the youth misbehaved with her father and elder sister and also broke a windowpane of their car.

She alleged that the suspect also snatched her mobile phone and later fled from the spot.

The police have registered an FIR against Balwinder and have started investigations. — OC
