A youth has been arrested for committing theft at two Verka booths last year.

The police said the suspect, identified as Nishant, a resident of Sector 25, has been arrested. Nishant, along with his associate Gaurav, alias Bindu, had committed theft at two Verka booths in Sector 23 last December. Cash and documents were stolen from the booths.

The police claimed that they have recovered the stolen documents from Nishant. “His accomplice will be arrested soon,” said the police.

Girl held with banned vials

Chandigarh: A girl has been arrested by the crime branch of the UT police while possessing banned injections. According to the police, Arshdeep Kaur, a resident of Badheri village in Sector 41, was arrested near Sector 39 after 50 banned injections were recovered from her.
