Ludhiana, February 4
Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU) jointly with National Productivity Council, Chandigarh, in association with Central Boiler Directorate, Government of India and Director of Boilers, Government of Punjab held a workshop on ‘Efficient Operations and Maintenance of Boilers’ at CICU Focal Point.
Upkar Singh Ahuja, CICU president, said by following safe operations and maintenance practices with new and retrofitting technology options will enhance boiler efficiency and energy conservation, which will prove to be more efficient in the existing setup of industries. Ahuja also said the objective of the workshop was to sensitise the industry and create awareness on regulatory framework for boiler, efficient boiler operation, safety and maintenance.
Pankaj Sharma, General Secretary- CICU, said such programmes were very informative and helped them keep up with the latest trends and practices in boiler technology and operations. TR Mishra, vice president and SB Singh, joint secretary- CICU conveyed that the programme contents would be improved in future for the benefit of industries and asked industries to seek maximum benefit from these programmes. SP Singh, regional head- NPC, Chandigarh, conveyed that the programme contents will be improved in future for the benefit of industries and asked industries to get maximum benefit from these programmes.
The participants actively interacted with the speaker and raised their queries and concerns. They also suggested that more such programmes should be conducted by state or Central Government bodies regularly in the region to sensitise industries at large.
The workshop was attended by around 50 professionals from different industries in and around Ludhiana. The National Productivity Council also shared its experience of improving efficiency in boiler by presenting a case study based on actual field level exercises conducted in the past.
