The Public Works Department (PWD) has pressed men and machinery into service to remove snow from the road at Thamh nallah bordering Pangi sub-division of Chamba district, about 30 km from Killar, the sub-divisional headquarters.

The Himachal Pradesh Public Works Department Executive Engineer, Jeet Singh Thakur, stated that the road was blocked due to recent heavy snowfall in the region.

This portion of the road is very dangerous in winters due to creation of artificial glacier. Water gradually freezes during night to form an ice sheet, said the Executive Engineer.

However, the work to clear snow from the road was going on in full swing and the road was expected to be restored to the vehicular traffic within a couple of days, said the Executive Engineer.
