Not relenting since his remarks in the Assembly against his own government, Cabinet minister Sukhjinder Randhawa today said he was a nationalist and would speak every time he felt that his own Chief Minister had gone weak.

Randhawa, who following a spat with former SAD minister Bikram Majithia during the Budget session had said that his government and the police were in cahoots with the Akalis, today maintained, “What if I am a minister? I cannot just keep my mouth shut. I will definitely speak up on the issues that matter.”

He, however, clarified, “I have no grudge against Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh. It is just that he is far too refined and gets misguided at times. I am closest to him in the Cabinet. I did not mean to say things against him or the government. I just meant to say that the police are aligned with the Akalis. I even spoke against the Vigilance Bureau for not filing challan against SAD leader Dyal Singh Kolianwali.”

The minister said, “Now, our Chief Minister is geared up. We are all set to take cases against the Akalis to logical end, including the one on Behbal Kalan police firing.”
