Women robbed of jewellery by knife-wielding miscreants

Three unidentified persons looted gold ornaments worth lakhs from two women in a house in the Muradpura area last night. The incident took place at around 8:30 pm when both the women were alone at the house. The police have registered a case against unidentified persons in this regard and further investigation is on. In complaint to the police, Geeta stated that the incident took place when her husband had gone out for some work and she along with her sister-in-law was alone at home.

“Three persons arrived at the gate of our house and started calling my husband. When I opened the door, they entered the house and one of them placed a knife on my neck while the second one started removing gold chain and the ring I was wearing. The third person removed chain and ear rings of my sister-in-law and fled from the house,” she further stated.

After the robbers left, Geeta called her husband and informed him about the incident. Her husband Raj Kumar informed the police following which a team from the Division No. 6 police station arrived at the victims’ house and started an investigation.

The investigating officer (IO), ASI Balvir Singh, said, “The police have registered a case under Sections 392 and 34 of the IPC against unidentified persons in this regard and further investigation is on.”

“The police is searching for clues about the culprits with help of the footage of the CCTV cameras installed in the nearby areas,” he added.
