Woman robbed of scooter at gunpoint

LUDHIANA: An armed man robbed a 21-year-old woman of her scooter at gunpoint in Sector 39 on Chandigarh Road yesterday.

An armed man robbed a 21-year-old woman of her scooter at gunpoint in Sector 39 on Chandigarh Road yesterday. After getting information about the incident, the police reached the spot and started investigation. A case against the unidentified robber has been registered at the Moti Nagar police station.

Gurkirat Kaur of Guru Teg Bahadur Colony told the police that she was going to a coaching institute on her scooter. When she reached the parking area of Sector 39, a man signalled her to stop. He pulled out a gun and threatened her.

The armed man asked Gurkirat to handover her scooter to him. When the robber fled the scene with her scooter, she raised the alarm.

The police are scanning footage of CCTV cameras installed in the area.
