Woman ‘kills’ husband suspecting him of affair
Gurugram, January 21
The police on Monday arrested five men and two women on the charge of murdering a cab driver. Among the accused is cab driver’s wife Sweety.
The deceased has been identified as Jogender, who lived in Sector 5 here.
Sweety had hired six men to kill her husband as she suspected him of having an extramarital affair and feared that he would transfer his entire property to his paramour. She had promised Rs16 lakh to the six men for murdering her husband.
The accused reportedly confessed to have thrashed Jogender with rods and sticks at his house on January 15. After he died, the accused dumped his body in the district’s Bajghera village. The body was recovered on Sunday.
As per plan, Sweety filed a missing person complaint and cooked up a story of her husband leaving the house without saying a word.
The police started suspecting Sweety’s role in the murder after she changed her statements during her interrogation.
She reportedly told the police that she feared Jogender would throw her out of the house and settle down with his paramour. So, she lured a neighbouring couple with money to arrange men for killing Jogender. — TNS
