A woman committed suicide by hanging herself at her house in the Mohan Nagar area on the Sultanwind road here on Saturday.
On Sunday, the police booked a woman on a charge of abatement to suicide on a complaint of deceased’s son Mohit. The suspect has been identified as Loveena.
The victim, identified as Kavita Singh, was the principal of a nursing college and used to visit a church. It is said some arguments were exchanged between her and the suspect.
Though she did not hold anyone responsible for taking the extreme step in her suicide note, Mohit named Loveena.
ADCP JS Walia said a case under Section 306 of the IPC had been registered against the suspect.
