Woman booked for fake degree

The registrar of Manav Bharti University, Sultanpur, today registered a case of cheating and forgery against Mamta Devi for producing the fake master’s degree in psychology which had not been issued by the university.

The registrar received an e-mail where a verification of the degree had been sought from the university but, on examining the records, it was found that the university had not issued any such degree to Mamta Devi.

A case has been registered for cheating and forgery and investigations are under way, said SHO, Dharampur, Naveen Jhalta.

He said the records were being sought from the university to investigate the case. — TNS
