High velocity winds accompanied by intermittent rain, which lashed the district throughout the day, threw life out of gear as power supply remained disrupted for several hours in various areas.

The high velocity winds made it difficult for the staff of the State Electricity Board to restore power, which plunged various areas such as Dharampur, Kasauli, Dagshai and Chail into darkness till late in the evening while the power supply played hide and seek in Nalagarh, Baddi, Solan and its surrounding areas. Residents shivered in the cold and roads wore a deserted look. The inclement weather led to uprooting of several trees, which fell on the electricity poles said SE, HPSEBL, SK Sen.— TNS
