Jammu, February 14

While condemning the terror attack on a CRPF convoy at Pulwama, Governor Satya Pal Malik on Thursday said his administration ‘will finish these inimical forces to the last’.

He said such actions would not deter the resolve of the security forces and people.

The Governor said the forces responsible for insurgency in J&K were desperate and frustrated and just wanted to prove their presence. Visibly, the attack seemed to be guided from across the border as Jaish-e-Mohammad had claimed responsibility for it, he said.

The Governor urged all security forces commanders to enhance surveillance on every front and directed the district and divisional civil and police administration to immediately review the security management of all important installations and establishments.

The Governor also conveyed his grief and sympathy to the families of the soldiers who had lost their lives in the attack and prayed for early recovery of the injured.

Gen JJ Singh flays attack

Former Indian Army Chief and former Governor Gen JJ Singh, who recently joined the Shiromani Akali Dal (Taksali) led by its president and Lok Sabha MP from Khadoor Sahib constituency namely, Ranjit Singh Brahmpura in Punjab, on Thursday strongly condemned the IED attack on the CRPF soldiers in which 39 personnel were killed at Awantipora in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district today.

“When the blood of soldiers pours out over this land, it makes my blood boil. I salute their selfless sacrifice and my condolences to the families who lost their loved ones. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured in this attack,” Gen JJ Singh added.
