The police got information around 11 am that a man was lying dead in his house. After getting information, the police reached the spot and started investigations. There were injury and strangulation marks on the neck of the deceased.

Ishu, son of the deceased, said his father used to work for a farmer at Holi village. He got information around 5 am that his father had died. Ishu lives separately as his father used to quarrel with him over petty issues.

Ishu said when he reached home he observed that there were some marks on his father’s neck following which he informed the police. There were injury marks on Shahzada’s face too.

Sources said the relations between the husband and the wife were not cordial and Nasir had suspicion over the character of his wife.

Nasir’s wife and daughter Noorjahan were at home along with him last night. The elder daughter of the deceased got married to a dhaba owner around two months ago, but her father was not happy with this marriage.

The younger daughter of the deceased claimed that some people had come to their house and they had killed her father around 1:30 am.

The police were not convinced with the claims of the deceased’s wife and the younger daughter.

Sudhir Taneja, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Barara, said: “It has been learnt that the relations between the husband and the wife were not cordial. There were strangulation marks on Nasir’s neck. However, the exact cause of the death would be clear in the post-mortem report. Domestic dispute seems to be the reason behind the incident.”
