Gurnaaz Kaur

Navkirat Chauhan is a dental surgeon and Vishavdeep Singh is a software engineer, who runs his own IT firm. Married for two years, Vishavadeep being a passionate photographer found his muse in his wife and together they make for a happy picture.

Instagram played the cupid

Vishavdeep: It all started when I searched for the hashtag #takhtsridamdasahib on Instagram as I was working on a documentary of the same. And among the recent posts, I found a beautiful shot of the Gurdwara sahib by nav_clicks (her Instagram username). I checked her profile and fell for the astonishing creativity that was captured in her clicks and those shared on her profile. I instantly followed her and just fell for her.

Navkirat: I started noticing him after two months when I realised he was always the first one to like and comment beautiful poetic versus on all my posts the moment I uploaded them. When I checked his profile, I fell for the artist in him who clicked emotions and expressed them with poetic quotes. And then it began... From following each other on Instagram to sending direct messages to tagging each other in memes to Facebook friends to phone calls to outing dates and then finally ending up by tying the knot.

Friends forever

V: We became friends, fell in love, got married and are the best friends forever. I still tease her to irritate her and then love her even more. She is in real sense my partner in crime.

N: He is my bestie for life. I confide in him everything which I never shared with anyone. He is the best listener and always gives the perfect advice.

Big foodies

V: We are too different but too alike. One thing that unites us is our never-ending food cravings. Be it any day, any time, if it’s regarding food, we both are always in.

N: Being brought up by highly protective parents, I always had fear of going alone after 7 pm and had to satisfy my food craving with Maggi at home. But now, he being my protective partner, I fulfil my night food cravings from Aroma, Night Food Street and other options.

Being married

V: She is the perfect life partner one could ever ask for. She is very patient and kind hearted. She has very beautifully transformed our house into a home where I run to come back to.

N: He is the most understanding and a beautiful soul. Without saying a word, he understands what I want. He has this magical blessed sense of humour by which he never lets me feel sad.

The birth connect

V: We both share our birthday with 11 days apart. Hers is on November 19 and mine on November 30 with the same year of birth and I fondly tease her of being elder to me by 11 days.

N: Even our time of birth is the same-that is 11:50 pm.

Minor flaws

V: I feel she needs to work on her panicky nature. She becomes really panicky if anything goes against her expectations. I always try to calm her by feeding her with all the positivity. But if I am away, it becomes really hard for her to think of the alternatives.

N: He needs to work on saying no. He is too readily available for anyone and everyone in distress.

Together we rock

V: We love to cook together on Sundays. I love to try out new dishes and give my own twists to the recipe. Though her week is really hectic, she makes sure to help me and stands with me in the kitchen while I experiment.

N:  He loves clicking and I love getting clicked. The moment we get some time off, we pack our bags along with his canon camera kit and are off to some new place.

Winning mantra

V: Our mantra for a happy matrimony is to talk to each other. Never let the conversation fade away. Even if we have an altercation, we discuss it calmly and sort things out.

N: We make it a point to take care of each other’s personal space and never try to invade it.
