New Delhi, December 13

At a time when the BJP and its government at the Centre want Rohingyas and illegal Bangladeshi immigrants to be deported from India, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Thursday praised the USA and its “liberal citizenship policies”.

Sisodia said, “We can learn from his (Habib) story and also from the ability of the American society to accept an immigrant from Iran as their own, eventually electing one from that family as Lt Governor of the State. This is the strength of democracy and the ability of the USA to nurture and recognise the talent.”

Habib, accompanied by Sisodia, today visited the Delhi government-run school in Patparganj and interacted with students to have a glimpse of the educational reforms carried out by the Aam Aadmi Party in the national capital. — TNS
