New Delhi, December 11

After the court allowed the taking of signature and handwriting samples of Christian Michel, the middleman accused in Rs 3,600 crore kickback case in AgustaWestland VVIP chopper deal, the CBI informed the Ministry of External Affairs to provide British Council access to the accused.

The British Council has sought permission to meet Michel, a British citizen who is in CBI custody for custodial interrogation in the kickback case.

Special CBI Judge Arvind Kumar passed the order for getting samples of signature and handwriting of the accused after Michel’s counsel said he had no objection to the CBI’s plea and he wanted to prove his client’s innocence. — TNS
