Shimla, January 20
INTUC vice president Rajiv Rana, who was injured in the clash between two factions of the Congress during installation of Kuldeep Rathore as HPCC president, today accused Congress MLA Vikramaditya Singh (son of former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh) of sheltering the attackers.
Addressing media persons here today, he said that the people who attacked him were standing behind Vikramaditya during a press conference on Friday and the photographs could be seen in the papers.
He said the supports of Virbhadra Singh had come to the party office well planned. It was a pre-planned move. They started shouting slogans “humse jo takriyaga choor choor ho jayega”.
“We were shouting slogans in support of Rahul Gandhi and Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu. In the meantime, supporters of Virbhadra Singh also started shouting slogans and became aggressive. When we tried to stop them, they threw chairs on me and started beating and I suffered head injury”, he stated. He asked the Congress state chief Kuldeep Rathore to take strict action all those involved in the attack against him as he feels threatened by the goons surrounding Virbhadra Singh and his son Vikramaditya Singh.
Meanwhile, the new HPCC chief Kuldeep Singh Rathore has advised the party leaders against going to media and asked them to raise all such issues at appropriate party forums. He also cautioned the party leaders of disciplinary incase internal matters of the party were brought in public domain. — TNS
