Shimla, January 13
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today said the BJP victory in the election to the Sangti ward of Shimla Municipal Corporation was indicative of the faith the people had in the policies and programmes of the state government.
He was speaking at the thanksgiving function organized by Shimla BJP mandal and workers on the victory of the BJP-supported candidate Meera Sharma in by-elections to Sangti ward. He congratulated the workers for the victory and said that they had worked with dedication and honesty.
“The party win in the very first election of 2019 was an auspicious sign for the future also,” he remarked. He congratulated Meera Sharma for registering victory.
He said that the clean image of the Prime Minister made him the leader of common man and an obvious choice for the post of PM. He said that BJP would win all four seats in coming Lok Sabha elections from the state.
Speaking on the occasion, Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj said it was a historic victory because the BJP supported candidate had won this ward for the first time. Giving credit to the Chief Minister’s vision and his functioning, he said the people of the state respect him and easy access to the general public.
Chopal MLA Balbir Verma, Deputy Mayor Rakesh Sharma, Councillors and other party workers were present on the occasion.
