Varsity creates awareness on students’ rights

CHANDIGARH: The Centre for Human Rights and Duties, Panjab University, celebrated the 70th International Human Rights Day by putting up a stall at the Student Centre on Monday.

The Centre for Human Rights and Duties, Panjab University, celebrated the 70th International Human Rights Day by putting up a stall at the Student Centre on Monday.

The stall was set up for creating legal awareness regarding the rights of students.

The centre also runs a Human Rights Volunteer Cell for para-legal services ,which functions as a legal-aid clinic. The objective of the cell is to spread legal literacy, organise legal aid camps, conduct surveys for identifying legal problems and to train the para-legal volunteers (PLVs).

It is also the nodal cell to look into the issues and concerns confronting the students from north-eastern India at the PU.
