Rape and murder accused Bangarmau (Unnao) MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar finds pride of place with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and CM Yogi Adityanath among others in an advertisement appearing in local papers, wishing people of his constituency on Independence Day and Rakshabandhan.

Two advertisements have gone viral on the social media inviting wrath of the people for promoting the culprit.

The MLA recently expelled by the BJP is facing trial before a CBI court. He faces charges of rape of a minor and the murder of the victim’s father.

Sengar figures in two advertisements in Unnao newspapers. While one has been issued by Ungu nagar panchayat chairperson Anuj Kumar Dixit, in the other advertisement, the MLA and his wife Sangeeta Singh Senger is also there. She is the chairman of the zila panchayat.

Ungu is part of the Bangarmau constituency represented by MLA Sengar. Dixit is said to be his protégé.

Defending the advertisement, Dixit said, “Sengar continues to be the MLA. As long as he is our MLA, his photograph will appear”. Meanwhile, the BJP distanced itself from the advertisement.
