Two youths murdered, 2 booked

The Hariana town police have registered an FIR against two persons late this evening in connection with the killing of two youths, who were found dead in the Lakkar Mandi, Naushehra, today.

Today, panic spread in Lakkar Mandi in Naushehra village, near Hariana, when Mandi Board employees saw bodies of the two youths lying in a pool of blood in the Lakkar Mandi.

They informed the police in Hariana.

Sub-Inspector Harjinder Singh, ASI Kulwinder Singh and ASI Sushil Kumar reached the spot and started investigating the matter. Initial investigation revealed that the deceased were residents of the nearby Bassi Babu village.

One of the deceased was identified as Suraj (25) who was staying with his maternal grandfather Resham, a resident of Bassi Babu, since his childhood. The other deceased was identified as Jeet Topanu (27), a resident of Lapung (Ranchi) in Jharkhand. He was a migrant labourer and was at present residing at Bassi Babu.

According to the family members of the deceased, both had gone for cutting timber near Hariana yesterday but did not return home in the night. Later, they started searching for them but to no avail.

The motorcycle of the deceased was also found lying close to their bodies.

Hariana SHO Inspector Dilbagh Singh said late in the evening Suraj’s maternal grandfather Resham told the police that some youth had threatened to kill Suraj a few days ago.

He expressed suspicion that they were killed by Lovdeep Singh Lavi of Naushehra and Paramjeet Singh Bindu of Hajipur. The Hariana police have booked Lovdeep and Paramjit under Sections 302 and 34, IPC.

The SHO said the bodies had been sent for autopsy and on the basis of statements of relatives, an FIR had been registered.
