Ludhiana, March 4
The police have arrested two alleged drug peddlers and seized 21-kg ganja from their possesion.
The accused have been identified as Amit Kumar and Ramesh Kumar, both residents of Ambedkar Nagar, Model Town, Ludhiana.
According to the information, the accused were nabbed near Mohan Dai Cancer Hospital following a tip-off.
Investigating officer Sub-Inspector (SI) Gurcharan Singh said they got a tip-off that the accused were involved in drug peddling for a long time and were spotted near Mohan Dai Cancer Hospital.
“Following this, we immediately carried out a raid and nabbed the accused. During their search, we recovered 21-kg ganja from a bag of the accused,” said SI Gurcharan Singh.
According to the police, the accused have confessed their involvement in drug peddling. The police have been trying to find out a source from whom the accused used to purchase drugs.
The police have registered a case under the NDPS Act against the duo at Moti Nagar police station.
