Two murdered in Sonepat district

Sonepat: Two persons were allegedly murdered in separate incidents in the district on Friday. In the first case, Azad Singh (60) was allegedly beaten to death outside his house in the local West Ram Nagar by his neighbour following an altercation. The accused has been identified as Ombir, who fled the spot after the incident. In the second case, Yameen, who runs a furniture shop on the Devru road here, was shot dead by a youth. Vazir Singh, SHO, Sadar police station, said a case had been registered against Praveen, who was absconding. He also said Yameen had a criminal record and was booked in five cases of loot. OC

Rs1.7 lakh snatched from IAF employee

Kaithal: Two motorcycle-borne miscreants snatched a bag containing Rs 1.7 lakh from Dalbir Singh, an Indian Air Force (IAF) employee, of Badsikri Khurd village on Thursday. A team from the Civil Lines police station reached the spot and scrutinised the CCTV camera footage in the vicinity to ascertain their identity. The police have registered a case. OC
