Two major fire incidents reported

A major fire broke out at a helmet factory in Udyog Nagar (Peeragarhi) this afternoon, said Atul Garg, Chief Fire Officer, DFS.

Garg said 30 fire tenders were rushed to the spot, yet the fire has not been doused. There was no causality reported, but goods and property worth lakhs was gutted in the fire, said police.

In another fire incident reported in early morning in Rohini’s Shahbad Daulatpur, a shoe factory-cum-warehouse was gutted in fire, said DFS official. He said, 20 fire tenders were rushed to the spot.

The official said such factories need to install fire safety equipment. "We have ordered a probe to see if they had followed proper fire safety measures. If not, action will be taken against the factory owner," he said. — TNS
