Two youths, Gurpreet Singh of Sangh Dhesian village and Avtar Singh of Dhadhey village near Goraya, have been working as bonded labourers and their employers have kept them in confinement for the last eight months in Saudi Arabia.

Ranjit Kaur, Gurpreet’s mother, told mediapersons that her son went to Saudi Arabia two years ago through a Phillaur-based travel agent, but her son was being harassed and kept hostage by his employer. She said her son was not even given salary for the last eight months. She urged the External Affairs Ministry to help in bringing back her son.
