Two file papers from Mandi, one from Shimla

SHIMLA: A total of three candidates today filed their nominations on the first day of the nominations for the Lok Sabha Elections 2019.

A total of three candidates today filed their nominations on the first day of the nominations for the Lok Sabha Elections 2019.

While two candidates filed their nomination from Mandi parliamentary constituency, one was filed from Shimla segment.

Shiv Lal Thakur (64) from Nalaban village, Rampur tehsil, Shimla district, affiliated with Bhartiya Shakti Chetna Party, filed his nomination from Mandi.

Guman Singh (59) from Jani village, Nichar tehsil, Kinnaur district, filed his nomination as an independent candidate from Mandi segment.

Ravi (39), a resident of Siyan Cottage, Sanjauli, in Shimla filed his nomination as an independent candidate from Shimla Lok Sabha segment.

Congress candidate from Shimla seat, Col Dhani Ram Shandil (retd) will file his nomination here tomorrow. The Congress is hoping to make it a mega event and a show of strength. Rajya Sabha MP and former minister Anand Sharma and AICC In-charge Rajni Patil arrived here today to take part in the nomination.

Former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) president Kuldeep Rathore along with party MLAs Mohan Lal Brakta, Anirudh Singh, Lakhwinder Rana and Vikramaditya Singh and senior office bearers are expected to be present at the nomination.
