Two choke to death in septic tank

An electrician and an employee of a hotel died of asphyxiation when they entered a septic tank near Ranbir Singh Hooda Chowk here on Monday to rectify the faulty motor used for desilting the tank.

The deceased have been identified as Ramjash (28), an electrician, of Bawan Gurjar locality and Devender (22), hotel employee, of Darbhanga in Bihar.

The incident took place in the tank located outside Parchay Hotel on Monday afternoon. Devender had called Ramjash to rectify the defect in the motor. First, Ramjash entered the septic tank and then he called Devender following which both fall unconscious after some time.

Other hotel employees then informed the police, which rushed to the spot. The bodies were later taken out of the tank.

The police have started the investigation into the incident, but no FIR was booked till the filing of the report.
