Ambala, June 22

Two dead bodies were recovered from different spots under the jurisdiction of the Sadar police station, Ambala City, today.

The body of Harjinder Singh, alias Chhinda, who went missing from Bhanokheri village of Ambala, was recovered from the village’s pond on Saturday.

A missing report was lodged on the complaint of deceased’s wife Neelam on June 19. Neelam had stated that on June 17, Harjinder had gone to the bus stand of Matheri Shekhan village but didn’t return. The case was registered under Section 346 of the IPC at the Sadar police station, Ambala City.

It is being suspected that Harjinder might have slipped into the pond in an inebriated condition. His body was found floated in the pond. After getting information, the police reached the spot and shifted the body to the Civil Hospital, Ambala City, for post-mortem examination.

Meanwhile, the body of an unidentified person was recovered from Ugara village of Ambala City. After getting information, forensic expert Dr GR Jain, along with police officials, reached the spot. The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital.

SHO Sadar Police Station Rajesh Kumar said: “The dead body of Harjinder has been recovered from the pond. Another body has been recovered from Ugara village, but the person is yet to be identified. The deceased seems to be a labourer.” — TNS
