Twenty booked for attacking scribe

TARN TARAN: Twenty residents of Rureasal village, 10 km from here, have been booked under Sections 323, 427, 341, 148 and 149 of the IPC for allegedly attacking a journalist during the panchayat elections on December 30.

Twenty residents of Rureasal village, 10 km from here, have been booked under Sections 323, 427, 341, 148 and 149 of the IPC for allegedly attacking a journalist during the panchayat elections on December 30. The scribe identified as Munish Kumar had gone to the village to cover the polling process.

The police said four of 20 accused had been identified as Lovepreet Singh, Gagandeep Singh, Sarabjit Singh and Satnam Singh. The accused belong to the Aam Aadmi Party.

The police said the accused attacked the mediaperson and also damaged his camera. — OC
