Trucker booked for death of his helper

The police have booked a truck owner for rashly driving a truck which led to death of his helper at Saketri village on August 30. The victim has been identified as Ravi, a resident of Buana Lakhu village, Panipat.

The matter came to light when Vikas Panchal, a resident of Panipat, informed the police that he was working as a driver on a truck owned by Vikas, a resident of Paaj village in Karnal. He said Ravi worked as helper. 

He said on August 28, he along with Ravi and Vikas had loaded crockery from Smalkha and left for Chandigarh next day. He said after unloading the material in Chandigarh, Ravi had a conversation with a transporter to transport apples to Ahmedabad. He said on August 30, Vikas decided to park the truck at Saketri village and he he and Ravi was standing nearby. He said Vikas mistakenly increased speed of the truck while taking a turn and hit Ravi. The duo  lifted Ravi, who said he was fine. In the morning, Ravi did not wake up and they took him to his village where his family members took him to the civil hospital. 

The Mansa Devi police have registered a case against Vikas under Sections under 279, 337 and 304 A of the IPC. — TNS
