Truck driver found murdered in field

Karambir (32), a resident of Bichpuri village in the district, was murdered late Sunday night. His body was found lying in a field of Khandrai village around 100 metres from the Gohana-Safidon road on Monday morning.

The police after preliminary investigation took the body to the Civil Hospital at Gohana where a postmortem was conducted. Later, the body was handed over to the bereaved family members.

Victim’s brother Kuldeep said that Karambir was working as a truck driver with a private firm at Gohana and was returning home on his motorcycle late Sunday night. However, he did not reach home and calls to his mobile phone also went unanswered.

He said that when he was searching for Karambir on the Gohana-Safidon road Monday morning, he saw his motorcycle parked near Khandrai village. His body bearing head injuries was found in an adjoining field.

Mahipal, SHO, said that on the statement of Karambir’s wife, a case of murder has been registered in city police station at Gohana.
