For the rehearsals of the Beating Retreat Ceremony to take place at Vijay Chowk on January 28, Traffic Police (TP) will be diverting traffic from 3.30pm-9,30 pm.
Vijay Chowk will remain closed. Traffic will not be allowed on stretches like Rafi Marg between Sunehri Masjid and Krishi Bhawan, said a TP official.
At Rajpath between Vijay Chowk and “C” – Hexagon will be totally pedestrianised and parking will be available for those coming to see illumination behind the water channels between Rafi Marg and ‘C’ Hexagon (after 7pm), they said.
Buses bound for Central Secretariat and Connaught Place coming from Shantipath, Vinay Marg, Sardar Patel Marg will take Panchsheel Marg, Simon Boliver Marg, Vande Matram Marg, Shankar Road, Park Street, they said.
Buses bound for Central Secretariat will terminate at Udyan Marg and return via Kali Bari Marg, Mandir Marg, Shankar Road. Connaught Place bound buses will take Mandir Marg, Kali Bari Marg, Baba Khadhak Singh Marg and reach Connaught Place and return via Bhagat Singh Marg, Peshwa Road, Mandir Marg, Shankar Road and Vande Matram Marg, police said.
Buses coming from south Delhi on Tughlak Road and bound for Connaught Place and Central Secretariat will be diverted from Aurobindo Chowk to Safdarjung Road, Kamal Attaturk Marg, Panchsheel Marg, Simon Boliver Marg and follow other route. Buses coming to Mandi House and Feroz Shah Road and proceeding to Connaught Place via Barakhamba Road will terminate at Shivaji Stadium and return via Kasturba Gandhi Marg. Connaught Place bound buses coming on Shahjahan Road will proceed to Shivaji Stadium via ‘C’ Hexagon—K.G. Marg, they said.
