Traffic block disrupts rail traffic

As a result of a traffic block from 9.10 am to 3.10 pm (in East Central Railway) for execution of safety and infrastructure-related works, three trains were rescheduled for late departure by Railways today. Some more trains were cancelled, rescheduled, diverted or delayed due to operational constraints.

According to railway officials, trains rescheduled due to six-hour traffic block were 14649 Jayanagar-Amritsar Saryu Yamuna Express (3 hrs), 14617 Saharsa-Amritsar Jan Sewa Express (1.15 hrs) and 15708 Amristar-Katihar Amrapali Express (5 hrs).

Meanwhile, 13152 Jammu Tawi-Kolkata Sealdah Express was cancelled for the day due to operational reasons while two other trains were rescheduled, four were diverted and four others were running behind schedule.
