New Delhi, February 18

Time for talks with Pakistan is over, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said today while asserting that hesitation to take action against terrorism and those who support it is akin to encouraging the menace.

After holding delegation-level talks with visiting Argentine President Mauricio Macri, Modi without naming Pakistan said the world should unite to take concrete action against terrorism and those who support it.

“I and President Macri agree with the view that terrorism is a serious danger to world’s peace and stability. The cruel attack in Pulwama shows that the time for talks has passed.” “Now, it is required that the world unites against terrorism and those who support it. Hesitation to take action against terrorism and those who support it is akin to encouraging terrorism,” Modi said in a statement. — PTI

Pak recalls envoy

New Delhi: Pakistan has recalled its High Commissioner to India Sohail Mahmood for “consultations” as tension mounts between the two countries. This has left missions of both countries without their top envoys because India had last week recalled its High Commissioner to Pakistan. “We have called back our High Commissioner for consultations. He left New Delhi this morning,” Pakistan Foreign Ministry spokesperson tweeted. tns
