Under the ‘Thank You India’ campaign, a team of four members of the Tibetan parliament-in-exile met local MLA Rakesh Pathania at his residence on Friday.
Led by MP Dawashinge, the team honoured the MLA and expressed gratitude to the Centre on behalf of the Tibetan government-in-exile for extending its support in the conservation of the Tibetan culture, language and historical identity. Addressing mediapersons, the team head Dawashinge said under the campaign, they had been visiting Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir and meeting local MPs and MLAs to honour them on behalf of their government.
The team members urged the Central Government for including Tibetan issues in the Indo-China dialogue in the future so that these could be resolved amicably.
Dawashinge appealed to all political parties, state assemblies and other government and non-government organisations to pass a resolution in the favour of addressing Tibetan issues. The Tibetan MPs alleged that the China government had imposed a strict control on the Tibetan religion and it was harassing and torturing Tibetans.
