In a case of old enmity, three persons — Hoshiar Singh (56), his wife Nirmala (50) of Bhainswal Kalan village and Surinder of adjoining Katwal village — were shot dead in their houses by armed persons in the wee hours today.
On receiving information, DSPs Hans Raj, Sushila and the police team from Sadar police station, Gohana, reached the villages. After preliminary investigation, they sent the bodies for post-mortem examination to BPS Government Women Medical College at Khanpur Kalan.
On the complaint of Surender Singh, Hoshiar Singh’s brother, and Dhoop Singh of Katwal village, a case of three murders had been registered against Sumit Katwalia of Katwal village and 5-6 others at the Sadar police station, Gohana.
Hoshiar Singh’s brother Balbir Singh was also shot dead by unidentified persons last Monday at his house in the village. This panchayat elections-related enmity between the families of Krishan and Balbir of Bhainswal Kalan village had claimed eight lives so far.
