Three militants were killed in a gunfight between security forces and militants that started on Monday morning, sources said.
Security forces had launched a cordon and search operation in Hapatnar forests of Chrar-e-Sharief following information about the presence of militants in the area, a police official said. He said the search operation turned into a gunbattle after the militants opened fire on the security forces.
