Three-day Jor Mela begins at Ropar

ROPAR: A three-day Shaheedi Jor Mela started with an ‘akhand path’ at Gurdwara Bhatta Sahib here on Monday.

A three-day Shaheedi Jor Mela started with an ‘akhand path’ at Gurdwara Bhatta Sahib here on Monday.

A nagar kirtan was taken out from Gurdwara Gurugarh Sahib, Sadabart, which, after passing through the main streets of the town, culminated at Gurdwara Bhatta Sahib.

Gatka groups displayed Sikh martial arts during the nagar kirtan.

A large number of devotees thronged Gurdwara Bhatta Sahib to pay obeisance while langar was organised by residents of several villages.

A religious ‘diwan’ will be organised at Gurdwara Bhatta Sahib on Tuesday which will be addressed by prominent religious and political leaders.
