Thieves try to loot ATM in Kaithal

KAITHAL: Thieves tried to loot cash from an ATM of Punjab and Sind Bank at Pehowa chowk on Wednesday night.

Thieves tried to loot cash from an ATM of Punjab and Sind Bank at Pehowa chowk on Wednesday night. After failing to break open the cash box, the thieves damaged the ATM and CCTV camera.

They stole an inverter, battery, CPU and UPS. The theft was recorded on CCTV camera. The bank had not deployed any security guard at the ATM kiosk.

The bank manager said no guard was posted as the ATM was near Pehowa chowk, where police were present round the clock. He said the thieves could not break open the cash box.

SP Waseem Akram visited the spot. He gave directions to the police to crack the case and nab the culprits. SHO Mandeep said a case was registered and investigation initiated.
