A few incidents of thefts that took place at the main market of sports,, Basti Nau, have troubled the industrialists.

Last night, a theft was reported from a showroom, from where the burglars decamped with a laptop and cash.

Ravinder Dhir, president, sports forum, said for the past three months, three-four incidents had been reported at the market developing a sense of fear.

He said earlier, a theft had also took place at the market.

SHO Nirmal Singh said the police had initiated an investigation in this regard. The police had scrutinsed the CCTV footage, in which a suspect was seen.

Dhir said industrialists had told the police that the accused must get caught as soon as possible.

Raise voice against GST

The Veopar Sena has also been raising voices against the GST since its implementation. Dhir is also the president of the group, a body comprising small scale manufacturers of sports goods. The group had also urged the Central Government to reduce the GST on their products from 28 per cent to the lowest slab of 5 per cent.
