Theft attempt at bank

NANGAL: A man who attempted to break into the strong room of a Punjab National Bank branch here was nabbed on Monday. Sanjiv Kumar had been trying to break into the strong room since February 8.

A man who attempted to break into the strong room of a Punjab National Bank branch here was nabbed on Monday. Sanjiv Kumar had been trying to break into the strong room since February 8.

During the investigation, the accused revealed that he had entered the bank after breaking a window grill on February 8 evening. When he could not get into the strong room till morning, he left only to return on the evening of February 9. Sanjiv told the police he did not succeed even that day so he returned the next day.

The theft attempts remained unnoticed as the bank was closed on weekend. Sanjiv once again failed to get inside the strong room till Monday morning and then decided to hide in the store of the bank. However, when the branch was opened, employees noticed the forceful entry and the guard found the accused in the store. — TNS
