Theft at electronics showroom in city

Some unidentified persons stole 19 batteries, seven invertors and Rs1,500 cash from an electronics showroom on Noorwala Road, Ludhiana.

The incident took place on the intervening night of February 9 and 10.

The police have registered a case against unidentified persons in this regard and further investigation was on.

In his statement, showroom owner Satnam Singh said he owns an electronics showroom on Noorwala Road. According to Satnam, he closed his showroom around 8:30 pm on Saturday night and went home.

“Next morning, a person living near my shop called me and told that the shutter of my shop was broken. When I reached, I found 19 batteries, 7 invertors and Rs1,500 cash missing from the showroom,” said Satnam.

He immediately informed the police, following which a police team from Moti Nagar police station reached the spot and launched an investigation.

Investigating Officer SI Baldev Raj said the police have registered a case under Section 457 and 380 of the IPC against unidentified persons. He said the police have been scanning the footage of CCTV cameras installed in nearby areas to get a clue about the thieves.
