Sangrur, January 15

Taking note of The Tribune report published on Monday, Local Bodies Minister Navjot Sidhu on Tuesday ordered a high-level inquiry into the construction of Red Cross mini cinema without getting building plan approved. The Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) has been told to probe the matter even as Sidhu assured strict action against the officials concerned, if found guilty.

“I read the news and ordered the inquiry. How a building can come up on land belonging to the Red Cross without approval? The erring officers of the Sangrur nagar council would face action. If any Red Cross employee is found guilty, I would write to the authorities concerned for action against him,” Sidhu told The Tribune at Bhawanigarh.
