SBI organises branch-level meets across the country

SBI recently held a discussion session at branches within the jurisdiction of all 524 Regional Offices to generate ideas and review bank performance aligned with national priorities. The discussion deliberated on efforts in designing the first stage of the bottom-up consultative process of the bank. BoI to make banking more citizen-centric

The two-day conference deliberated on make banking citizen-centric and more responsive to the needs and aspirations of senior citizens, farmers, small industrialists, entrepreneurs, youth, students and women. More than 100 branch managers from Chandigarh, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh attended the meet. 

Mobile app Gwala.in rolls out service in tricity

A husband-wife startup duo has devised a mobile app-driven shopping experience for their customers by introducing online grocery — ‘www.gwala.in’. The app helps housewives across the tricity to receive the groceries at their doorstep. “Gwala has tied up with more than 400 stores in the tricity to ensure timely delivery of every order. The service is free and offers handsome cashbacks,” said MD Joydeep Mandal.

69 branch heads attend PNB meet on ideation 

PNB, circle office, Jammu, recently held a two-day conference on consultation and ideation. It was organised as per the instructions from Department of Financial services for generation of ideas on overall working of all public sector banks. Sixteen groups headed by branch heads were formed who suggested ideas in 16 Key performance indicators for improvement in the growth of business. The conference was attended by 69 branch heads of the state and chaired by circle head SK Rana.

This was a first-of-its-kind consultation where the branches were asked to review their performance, deliberate on issues before the banking sector, and ideate on future strategy and the way forward.

Atul Sobti assumes charge as Director General, SCOPE

Atul Sobti has taken over as the Director General of SCOPE (Standing Conference of Public Enterprises). Sobti, who recently superannuated as CMD of BHEL, is a mechanical engineer with postgraduation in international management and diploma in project management.
