Sahil Gupta, a banker and Jyotsna Julka, a graphic designer, complete each other despite their varied choices in life. Jyotsna likes fiction and movies while Sahil likes to stay close to reality. For Jyotsna, spending time with family and friends is a must. Likewise, Sahil has to make time for gaming and rock music. Say whatever, these opposites are quite attracted to each other.

Found the spark

J: We met at a party in 2013. It was a coincidence that we knew the same set of people and so conversation was inevitable. He was interesting, got me talking on things like music, books and travel. It made the evening memorable.

S: A friend of mine had invited me to a party in Delhi where I met her. It was love at first sight for me. But it took a few meetings before I asked her out.

Love blossomed

J: We dated for almost five years before we took the plunge. Within six months of our relationship he moved to Surat and after over four years of long-distance relationship, we decided to get married in 2017.

S: There were few hiccups and roller-coaster moments but I realised that she's the one for me. So, we finally got married in November, 2017.

And life became better

J: Life has definitely changed for the better after marriage. Sahil is a wonderful guy and I feel fortunate to be married to him. The bond that we share is amazing.

S: Life has become nicer and more comfortable with her around. She cooks great food and believes in eating home-cooked food and I am not complaining. She is my all-rounder who takes care of my health and pushes me to be fit to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Joy of living together

J: It is an amazing feeling to live together. We share our joys and sorrows and he supports me with every decision of mine and I feel much more empowered every single day.

S: Living together is great. We love to spend time with each other. I am always looking forward to go home and spend quality time with her after work.

Don’t want to change a thing

J: I wouldn’t wish to change anything about him.

S: I can’t think of anything I would want to change about her.

When it gets annoying

J: He can get too lazy sometimes.

S: She can be impatient sometimes.

Free time perks

J: We mostly kill our time watching web series. When we have quality time, we love to eat out, travel and watch movies

S: Watching movies, web series and talking about everyday chores in general.

Couple goals

J: Travel around the world with him.

S: Growing old together.

The wow factor

J: He takes care of the minutest things I need.

S: The way she reads my mind even when I don't say anything.

To make it work

J: It takes two to make a marriage work. A lot of trust, love and respect go into keeping it strong.

S: Needless to say, the binding force is love and respect.

Secret revealed

J: Just listen to your partner when he is upset or mad about something.

S: Praise and give lots of compliments to your better half.

Space a must

J: Freedom is the key to any good relationship. We must respect the space that any person requires. Not just your partner, but any relationship can thrive when people are allowed to do what they want.

S: Everyone needs certain amount of liberty as a human being because we are all individuals who have aspirations and therefore it is of utmost importance to understand the concept and importance of space.

Separate room and solo vacation?

J: I don’t support the idea of sleeping separately or separate vacations.

S: I can’t imagine going on a vacation alone without her because I know she will never let me. Sleeping in separate rooms happens only when I work late because I don’t like the idea of disturbing her.
