Panchkula, January 14

Films related to government welfare schemes should be telecast during ‘Ratri Thehrav Karyakram’ so that people could avail of the maximum benefits, said Sameer Pal Srow, Director General of the Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, while presiding over a meeting here on Monday.

He directed the officers to keep their Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp and Instagram accounts updated and send constructive suggestions so that the departmental website could be made more people friendly.

Srow said the department was providing online facilities such as accreditation, pension of ‘Matribhasha Satyagrahis’ of Hindi Andolan and application for pension to mediapersons through Saral portal. He said the department had prepared a plan to show films related to schemes and policies of the government by installing LEDs on vans. Initially, the districts of Karnal, Faridabad, Ambala and Gurugram would be covered under the pilot project, he said.

He said the schemes would be depicted as wall paintings in all villages across the state. Besides, hoardings carrying information of public welfare schemes would be installed at all petrol pumps in the state.

Srow said district officers should visit Antyodaya Bhavans every month and ensure distribution of publicity material of the department.

He said in order to ensure smooth conduct of ‘Ratri Thehrav Karyakram’ in rural areas, Deputy Commissioners, Block Development and Panchayat Officers, SHOs and Sarpanches should be informed to avoid any kind of inconvenience.
